Join us on Zoom with marine toxicologist Dr. Christina Pasparakis, assistant professor in the Environmental Toxicology Department at UC Davis Bodega Marine Laboratory, for a look at how environmental stressors shape the lives of fish and invertebrates. Her research explores the molecular and physiological mechanisms that help organisms cope with both natural and human-caused stressors, with a focus on how exposures in early life stages lead to sublethal effects later on.
Dr. Pasparakis created the Land to Sea Microplastics Consortium, which brings together experts from leading institutions to advance a One Health understanding of microplastics and nanoplastics, address their impacts on nature, and promote evidence-based solutions to plastic pollution.
